A: No, these types of devices are not allowed. The point is to find your way using a compass and your brain.
A: As long as you have all the required gear for your entire team in your possession it doesn't matter who carries it. There is no shame in being the team mule.
Q: Do we need to transport any gear? A: Not normally, if you do it will be explicitly clear in the race info.
Q: Is there a time cutoff? A: Yes, it will be specified in the race info and pre race meetings.
A: Of course there are, just tolerate them. They get asked at every race and you can count on them like clockwork. Sit back and enjoy, they become humorous after a while.
