2009 Midget Adventure Racing Rules
Rules subject to unranked status or disqualification
All adventure racers must complete the entire course as laid out in the pre race meeting instructions.
- All adventure racers must cross the finish line together.
All adventure racers must show good sportsmanship to fellow racers, volunteers, spectators, etc.
All teams must turn in their passports at the end of the race.
Crew can only help in TA areas. Teams may help other teams.
Human powered travel only.
The only electronic devices that are allowed are watches, altimeters, bike computers and lighting systems.
PFDs must be worn at all times whiile on the water or other times specified by race staff.
No unauthorized portages.
Bike helmets must be worn at all times while riding your bike.
No littering.
Rules Subject to a Time Penalty
Teammates must stay within 100 feet of each other - 1 hr penalty
Teams must carry all mandatory gear as specified on the gear list - 1 hr penalty
Canoes must not be dragged on the ground - 1 hr penalty
General Rules
Teams may continue after the loss of one teammember provided there are at least 2 members of the original team remaining. The team will continue to be ranked under these circumstances.
Time penalties will be assessed wherever the infraction is found if at all possible. Otherwise it will be assessed at the the TA or finish line.
The promoter reserves the right to change course to ensure the safety of participants.
If your team finishes outside of the assigned time limit they will be ranked below all teams that finished the race within the time limit.
